One killed as commuter train collides with a lorry stuck on the tracks near Donholm

A middle aged truck driver has been killed an accident which involved a train and a lorry this morning at Donholm Nairobi.

According to witnesses, the driver of the lorry was trying to cross the railway before he was forced to stop on the tracks due to the traffic congestion that is common along that route.

While the driver was waiting for the road to clear up, an oncoming train rammed into the lorry with the driver stuck inside. The truck was crushed it into a heap of wreckage. 

Train commuters have been put on hold as the concerned parties clear the tracks. By the time of this article, police officers were yet to arrive at the scene of the accident. 

Although it is not clear exactly what transpired at the moment of impact many eyewitnesses are blaming the truck drive for recklessness. 

An accident involving a train, a lorry and personal car has occurred in #Donholm, Nairobi.

The lorry was cut into pieces as a result of the accident.
