- Cause: According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), preliminary findings suggest the Lexus SUV carrying Joshua was traveling beyond the legally prescribed speed limit, lost control while overtaking, and crashed into a stationary truck parked by the roadside. One police official also mentioned a burst tire may have contributed to the driver losing control.
- Casualties: Two male foreign nationals in the same vehicle as Joshua died at the scene. Their identities have not been officially released by authorities, though some reports identified them as his personal trainer, Latz, and strength and conditioning coach, Sina. Two other passengers in the car were unhurt.
- Joshua’s Condition: Joshua, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a specialized medical facility in Lagos. Officials confirmed he is in stable condition, conscious, and does not require emergency medical intervention.
