A listing of licensed clearing agents is available online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kra.go.ke\/customs\/pdf\/THE_LICENSED_CUSTOMS_CLEARING_AGENTS_FOR_THE_YEAR_2007.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&amp;q=http:\/\/www.kra.go.ke\/customs\/pdf\/THE_LICENSED_CUSTOMS_CLEARING_AGENTS_FOR_THE_YEAR_2007.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1468475182143000&amp;usg=AFQjCNG-Zd35J9tWAY1kM8a070VDCDAYIA\">here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The clearing agent will lodge an import entry in Simba 2005 system, pay the required duties and taxes and present all the relevant documentation for Customs to pass the entry.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> The documents required are:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Original Commercial Invoice.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Original Bill of Lading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Import Declaration Form obtained from Customs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Authentic Original Logbook from country of origin.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">KRA shall not accept a Certificate of Export issued by Dubai Police or any other authority as a substitute for a foreign log book.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> If the logbook is in a foreign language, an English translation issued by the respective Embassy, High Commission or a consulate based here in Kenya, must be furnished to Customs to authenticate the foreign logbook.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Cancellation of the foreign Logbook<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Certificate of Inspection by Japan Auto Appraisal Institute (JAAI)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Any other document that may be required by Customs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Note: The vehicle must meet Kenya Bureau of Standards KS 1515:2000 \u2013 Code of Practice for Inspection of Road Vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">The Standard spells out three major criteria for acceptance of vehicles of importation:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><b>A. Age Limit<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> All road vehicles, which are more than eight years old from the year of manufacture, shall not be allowed for importation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><b>B. Left Hand Drive<\/b><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"> All left hand drive vehicles are not allowed for registration unless they are for special purpose i.e. Ambulances, Fire Tenders and large construction vehicles imported for projects and to be eventually donated to the Kenyan Government.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\"><b>C.
