{"id":13763,"date":"2024-08-05T23:39:24","date_gmt":"2024-08-05T20:39:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.magaripoa.com\/?p=13763"},"modified":"2024-08-05T23:39:24","modified_gmt":"2024-08-05T20:39:24","slug":"ruto-drives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.magaripoa.com\/gari\/ruto-drives\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruto drives himself to KICC to flag off Safari Rally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">It is on rare occasions that people get to see the President driving himself to functions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">President William Ruto on Thursday, drove himself to the Kenyatta International Conventional Centre to flag off the WRC Safari Rally Kenya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Away from his usual Kaunda suits and top designer suits, the President was dressed in full Safari Rally drivers&#8217; gear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">As the President was driving, one of his security escorts was seated in the passenger seat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">He arrived at the KICC where Sports CS Ababu Namwamba received him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">This is, however, not the first time the Head of State has driven himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">On September 4, 2023, Kenya hosted the Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">In a surprise move, President Ruto drove himself from State House in an Autopax Air EV Yetu vehicle to KICC where the event was taking place.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">He drove through State House Road to Kenyatta Avenue to Uhuru Highway and later to City Hallway for the function.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">It is not common practice for a president to be on the steering wheel, hence a rare spectacle for Kenyans.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is on rare occasions that people get to see the President driving himself to functions.
