However, a facelift in 2015 brought the Avensis in line with the rest of the Toyota range and introduced more daring styling and an upgraded interior.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">It\u2019s certainly an accomplished machine, but it\u2019s one you buy with your head rather than your heart.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-review-verdict field-type-text-long field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A new Toyota Avensis has a reasonable amount going for it. The Avensis is roomy, relatively economical and clean.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Toyota revised the Avensis with facelifts in 2011 and 2015, which have made the car a little more interesting visually, but there\u2019s no denying rivals make a more impactful style statement. The same story is repeated inside, as the Toyota has a simplistic and functional interior but doesn&#8217;t offer much in the way of wow factor.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"referenced-gallery-node\">\n<p class=\"gallery-info\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Driving the Avensis won\u2019t put a smile on your face either, although it&#8217;s a comfortable and refined cruiser. It\u2019s not an engaging drive though, as the steering feels inert and over-soft suspension means there\u2019s lots of pitch and roll in corners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">\u00a0All cars get\u00a0air-con, Bluetooth, cruise control and LED daytime running lights. The Business Edition adds an eight-inch touchscreen, reversing camera, auto lights and wipers and 17-inch alloys, while Plus gets part-leather seats, LED headlamps, rear privacy glass and unique alloys. The range-topping Excel adds leather, a panoramic roof and advanced connectivity options.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"block-views-canonical_tabs_teaser\" class=\"block block-views canonical-tabs-teaser-view-block\">\n<div class=\"gutter inner clearfix\">\n<div class=\"content clearfix\">\n<div class=\"view view-canonical-tabs-teaser view-id-canonical_tabs_teaser view-display-id-canonical_tabs_teaser view-dom-id-4875c930b6fd45a49791af154f4828cd\">\n<div class=\"view-content\">\n<div class=\"views-row views-row-1 views-row-odd views-row-first views-row-last clearfix\">\n<div class=\"views-field views-field-nothing\"><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\"><strong><span class=\"field-content\">Engines, performance and drive<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Quiet, refined and comfortable \u2013 that describes the Avensis.
