Students of Mukeu Primary School in Dundori Centre, Nakuru County, are counting their blessings after escaping unhurt when a trailer carrying a grader rammed into their school.<\/span><\/p>\n

A government official who was in the area said that the speeding trailer knocked down the school’s fence before damaging the wall of the classroom.<\/span><\/p>\n

He further noted that the accident was caused by a brake failure but no one was hurt in the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

A trailer was leaving Ol Kalou headed to Nakuru but the when the brakes failed the vehicle lost control and crashed straight into the school.<\/p>\n

“It crashed through the wall, drove through the playing ground and knocked down the classroom,” he stated.<\/p>\n

Students were not inside the classroom at the time of the accident and the driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n

“No pupil was hurt. The turnboy jumped off from the truck and sustained minor injuries,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

The heavily loaded trailer was transporting a grader\u00a0used in a road construction project.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dundori Centre is a market town located on the foot of Dundori Forest. Its position surrounded by steep roads often used by trailers has made it a notorious blackspot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tuesday accident occurred barely two months after another tragic accident killed three people at the same location in August.<\/span><\/p>\n

The truck, which was transporting logs, veered off the road rammed into vehicles parked on the roadside at Dundori Trading Centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nakuru North OCPD Jacinta Mwarania confirmed to the press that the deceased\u00a0were traders at the market.<\/span><\/p>\n
