I’m sure you will jump on who is at fault. However, there are 3 factors: the road-condition, the judgement of the matatu driver and the attitude of the oncoming car. Each contributed to the accident upto a certain extent.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Three people died on the spot Tuesday in a road crash involving a matatu and car along the Bomet-Sotik highway.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nine other passengers who sustained injuries were taken to Tenwek Hospital for treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bomet Central Sub-County Police Commander Musa Omari said the incident happened at around 3pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The matatu had nine passengers and the driver disappeared from the scene immediately after the accident occurred,” said Mr Omari.<\/span><\/p>\n

The matatu driver is said to have been trying to avoid hitting a pothole when the crash occurred.<\/span><\/p>\n

The matatu collided head on with the car, resulting in a tyre burst before it veered off the road and rolled several times before landing in a ditch.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, passengers were thrown off their seats, resulting in the fatalities and injuries. Their belongings were strewn at the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

The matatu belonging to Egesa transport company was travelling from Kisii to Nairobi while the car, with an unknown number of passengers, was heading towards Kaplong.<\/span><\/p>\n

Among those who are admitted to hospital is the driver of the car.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bodies of the crash victims were moved to Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary.<\/span><\/p>\n
