{"id":7255,"date":"2025-01-03T11:38:53","date_gmt":"2025-01-03T08:38:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.magaripoa.com\/?p=7255"},"modified":"2025-01-03T11:38:53","modified_gmt":"2025-01-03T08:38:53","slug":"githurai-carjacker-poses-as-passenger-once-inside-squeezes-the-taxi-drivers-neck-from-the-back-seat","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.magaripoa.com\/gari\/githurai-carjacker-poses-as-passenger-once-inside-squeezes-the-taxi-drivers-neck-from-the-back-seat\/","title":{"rendered":"Githurai carjacker poses as passenger once inside squeezes the taxi driver\u2019s neck from the back seat"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">DCI detectives have arrested five people suspected of carjacking taxi drivers operating in Githurai, Ruiru and Kirigiti areas in Kiambu County.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">The sleuths say the gang has been targeting Little Cab drivers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">\u201cSo organised are the gang members, that one of them poses like the usual cab passenger but once inside the cab, he squeezes the driver\u2019s neck from the back seat and commandeers the car to a secluded area where his accomplices join him,\u201d said the DCI in a Twitter post on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">\u201cThe driver is then robbed of his valuables after being assaulted, and his vehicle vandalised.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">The detectives claim that on February 10, one of the suspects hailed a taxi to take him to Kirigiti from Githurai Kimbo. The suspect told the driver he was going to pick his ailing mother, who was in need of emergency medical care.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">\u201cThe unsuspecting cab driver then set off for the journey, but on reaching Kirigiti, where they were supposed to pick an ailing woman, a male adult emerged and entered the vehicle instead.
