The brakes are one of the most important safety features of your car, so it\u2019s important to act immediately when you see this red warning light.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">If the red brake warning light comes on when you\u2019re driving you should pull over and stop as soon as it\u2019s safe to do so. If you can\u2019t see any and the light goes off after topping up then you should be fine to continue your journey. If the light comes back on again after topping up you should\u00a0get it checked out\u00a0to fix the underlying problem.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota\u00a0oil pressure warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/toyota-warning-lights-oil-pressure.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-oil-pressure\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">The oil warning light comes on when either the oil temperature gets too high or the oil level or pressure is too low. If the oil is not lubricating the engine effectively it could lead to expensive or even irreparable engine damage, so it\u2019s important to act quickly.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000\">Can I still drive with my engine oil pressure light on?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">When this light comes on you should stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Have a look for any obvious oil leaks under the car, and then check the oil levels, topping up if necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">If the oil levels are fine, then the oil pump may be faulty. In this case call for recovery, as driving any further could damage the engine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">While you\u2019re under the hood, have a look to see if there are any obvious leaks. If you can\u2019t see any and the light goes off after topping up then you should be fine to continue your journey. If the light comes back on again after topping up you should\u00a0get it checked out at a garage\u00a0to fix the underlying problem.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wygwam\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota\u00a0engine oil change warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/toyota-warning-lights-engine-oil-change.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-engine-oil-change\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">This light comes on to remind you to change your engine oil. Toyota recommends that you change your oil on a regular basis, so this light will come on automatically once you have driven a certain number of miles since the indicator was last reset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Once you have replaced the oil you will need to reset the indicator. Take a look at your car\u2019s owner manual to find out how.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000\">Can I still drive with my change oil light on?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Yes, but it will extend the life of your engine if you treat it to\u00a0regular servicing<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wygwam\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota service reminder\u00a0warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/toyota-warning-lights-service-reminder.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-service-reminder\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">As with the Engine Oil Change warning light, modern Toyotas will also monitor how many miles you\u2019ve driven since your last service and automatically remind you to go for a service when you reach a specified amount.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Likewise, though it may take many thousands of miles of driving before you see it, the \u2018T-BELT\u2019\u00a0warning light will light up when your mileage clock hits a certain number, to remind you to change the timing belt (cambelt).<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wygwam\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota tyre\u00a0pressure\u00a0warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/toyota-warning-lights-tyre-pressure.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-tyre-pressure\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Many Toyota cars are now fitted with tyre pressure monitoring systems that will let you know when the pressure falls. Low tyre pressure can cause unsafe driving conditions so reduce your speed, and try to avoid braking suddenly or making any violent steering manoeuvres.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Most petrol stations and garages will have an air compressor you can use to check your tyre pressure. Tragically, there have been a number of horrible accidents caused by this simple mistake so Toyota have included this warning light on newer models to warn you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">If this light comes on release the accelerator and press the brake pedal again as normal. Slow down and allow your car to regain traction. If the light stays on it means the system is deactivated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">You may have inadvertently turned off the traction system. To check, try stopping and restarting the engine. If the light remains on after restarting get it checked at a garage as this is an important safety feature.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"wygwam\">\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota TRC off warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/toyota-warning-lights-trc-off.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-trc-off\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota\u2019s Traction Control System (TRC) is designed to maintain drive power and stop the drive wheels from spinning when you start your car or accelerate on slippery roads. This warning light simply indicates that the system is off.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota rear differential lock warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/toyota-warning-lights-rear-lock.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-rear-lock\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">Some Toyota cars come with a Rear Differential Lock system that prevents the rear wheels from spinning to give you extra traction and control when you\u2019re in stuck in slippery mud, for example.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">When you engage the system by pressing the switch, this red warning light will come on to remind you that the lock has been activated and you should keep your speed below 5 mph. When you switch off the system the light should go off.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000\">Toyota low speed four-wheel drive\u00a0warning light<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #000000\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.rac.co.uk\/drive\/images\/uploads\/content\/ford-warning-lights-4lo.png?ssl=1\" alt=\"toyota-warning-lights-4lo\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">If you have a 4WD Toyota, this light will come on when you switch the car into the \u2018low\u2019 version of the four-wheel drive mode, which gives you maximum power and traction.
