O. Box 30163-00100,<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Nairobi, Kenya,<\/span><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">You are required to submit the Air Traffic Controllers License application form with all the required documents for you to get approval to make payments for the prescribed application fees. These documents include:-<\/span>\n<dl>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(i). A current Class 3 medical certificate;<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(ii). A knowledge test report given after passing the Rating Board;<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(iii). An Authorised Training Organisation Certificate certifying that the applicant has received and passed an approved training course in air traffic control;<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(iv). Two current passport size photographs (full face);<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(v). A photo identification card or Passport;.<\/span><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">The receiving officers will check for discrepancies or ineligibility in the application documents. If a discrepancy that cannot be immediately corrected exists in any of the documents, the application and all the submitted documents will be returned to the applicant and should not be re-submitted until the discrepancy has been rectified corrected.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">If the receiving officers is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the issue of a licence and the prescribed application form has been completed and presented in the Personnel Licensing (PEL) Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed application fees, after which the licence will be issued.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">You are also to proceed to pay the prescribed application fees and submit the payment receipt to together with the application documents.<\/span>\n<dl>\n<dd>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">An application fee of KSh. 5,000 is charged for the issuance of the license.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A processing time of 7 days is needed to complete the processing of the Air Traffic Controllers License application, after which you will be contacted through a phone call to collect your new license at the KCAA\u2019s Personnel Licensing offices.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">You will be required to carry your identification documents when collecting your new license.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div id=\"DisplayThirdAdvertRectangle\"><\/div>\n<h2><span id=\"Required_Documents\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Required Documents<\/span><\/h2>\n<dl>\n<dt><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">The following forms should be duly filled and signed;<\/span><\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A properly completed prescribed Application Form PEL 008 i.e. \u2019\u2019Application for Issue of an Air Traffic Controllers License Form;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A current Class 3 medical certificate;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A knowledge test report given after passing the Rating Board;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">An Authorised Training Organisation Certificate certifying that the applicant has received and passed an approved training course in air traffic control;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Two current passport size photographs (full face);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A photo identification card or Passport;.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Payment receipt of the prescribed fees of Ksh. 5,000.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"NoMobileDisplayMainAdvert\"><\/div>\n<h2><span id=\"Eligibility\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Eligibility<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">An applicant for an air traffic controller license shall:-<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Be at least 21 years of age;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Hold a current Class 3 Medical Certificate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Have completed an approved training course and not less than three (3) months\u2019 satisfactory service engaged in the actual control of air traffic under the supervision of an appropriately rated air traffic controller (OJT). This will be substantiated by a certificate of completion from the ATO. The experience specified above shall have been completed in the 6-month period preceding application for an ATC license.;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Pass the English Language Proficiency exam and attain either of;<\/span>\n<dl>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(i). Operational Level (Level 4); Valid for 3 years<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(ii). Extended Level (Level 5); Valid for 6 years<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(iii). Expert Level (Level 6); Valid for Life<\/span><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Have met the training, experience, and assessment requirements for at least one air traffic controller rating.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Pass the English Language Proficiency exam and attain either of;<\/span>\n<dl>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(i). Operational Level (Level 4); Valid for 3 years<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(ii). Extended Level (Level 5); Valid for 6 years<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(iii). Expert Level (Level 6); Valid for Life<\/span><\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span id=\"Fees\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Fees<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">A fee of Ksh 5000 is charged for issuance of this license<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\"><a class=\"external text\" style=\"color: #000000\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kcaa.or.ke\/sites\/default\/files\/charges\/KCAA%20%20CHARGES%20%26%20REGULATORY%20FEES-%20AIC%209.17_0.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow\">Charges for Air Navigation Services and Regulatory Fees<\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Validity\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Validity<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">The validity period depends on the period indicated on the medical certificate;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<dl>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(i). Controllers keep track of flights by using radar and the latest computer systems.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span id=\"Information_which_might_help\" class=\"mw-headline\" style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">More Information\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Air traffic controller rating as follows:-<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">Aerodrome Control Rating; to provide or to supervise the provision of Air traffic Service for all traffic on the maneuvering area of an aerodrome and all aircraft flying in the vicinity of the aerodrome for which the license holder is rated. A tower (with an Aerodrome or &#8216;Airport Control&#8217;) rating would tend to be qualified in all aspects of tower operations including:<\/span>\n<dl>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(i). Clearance Delivery (issuing IFR clearances as issued by Approach Control or assigning transponder codes)<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(ii). Ground Control (issuing clearances for aircraft to move to\/from the apron and runway areas via a taxiway system<\/span><\/dd>\n<dd><span style=\"color: #000000;font-size: 12pt\">(iii).
