When selling your built car, people will never understand your price point and how much has been put into it. A 1995 Impreza GC or GF that costs 270,000 to buy, will cost you about 500,000 on top to make it a full spec WRX. This is a simple breakdown:

 

WRX engine with the harness and ECU ~ ksh. 200,000
Labour ~ 50,000
4pot front brake callipers and disks ~ Ksh. 25,000
Bucket seats ~ Ksh. 40,000 STi
Rims ~ Ksh. 50,000
Performance tyres ~ Ksh. 48,000
WRX body kit ~ Ksh. 30,000
Performance gauges ~ Ksh. 30,000
The total comes to about 473,000 and you haven’t added the miscellaneous costs that will go in. It could easily get to ksh. 600,000 depending on the goals of the build.
If you happen to pus the car on sale asking for Ksh. 700,000, the ordinary joe will exclaim,
“That’s too damn expensive!”
