A high speed chase between a matatu and a police car has left a pedestrian dead, and another nursing serious injuries in hospital.
The matatu driver was avoiding arrest when he sped-off and ploughed into pedestrians waiting to cross the road killing one the spot and severely injuring another. The injured person was rushed to the Nakuru County Referral hospital.
In recent days three pedestrians have been killed in the mad-chase between motorists and the police.
Yesterday a cop on motor bike was killed in an accident along Lang’ata Road. He apparently crashed into an Audi A4 station wagon which run him over and dragged him underneath for about 100 meters.
NTSA warned on the rise of road fatalities many involving boda boda operators.
In their recent statistics, ntsa recorded a 6.9 per cent increase in crash deaths, where majority are pedestrians followed by motor cycle riders and pillion passengers.
