There was shock and disbelieve when a little boy was spotted driving a car along a busy highway.
The child, who looks no older than 9, was sitting in the driver’s seat as he sped along the road in Mombasa Road.
Witnesses claimed the boy looked amazingly comfortable as he peered over the steering wheel, even in rainy conditions.
They believe the child was driving at more than 80kmph.
It appears that other motorist had spotted the strange sight as they drove down the Highway.
The baby-faced boy was seen staring at the road ahead.
He was at the wheel of a Toyota Passo, a hatchback capable of speeds in excess of 140kmph.
Amazingly, an adult passenger in the boy’s car identified at the boy’s father appeared to be tapping away at a mobile phone as the child drove. In the back seat was the boy’s younger sister 5 years old.
When they approached a police check, they were flagged down and the boy-driver obliged. However, as the traffic cop approached, they quickly switched sitting positions. The boy’s father quickly took control of the car and speed off.
The cops gave a high speed chase and caught up with the offender. The shocked minors were later dropped at school while their father is cooling his heels at the police cell waiting to be aligned in court tomorrow.
The incident happened this morning and has shocked many onlookers.
It isn’t the first time a child driver has been caught on camera though.
