Driver hits a police officer during high speed chase

A driver, ran over a police officer while escaping a roadblock set up near a flyover in Ngoingwa, Thika.

An eyewitness stated that the driver declined to stop after he was flagged down by the traffic officers prompting a car chase.

He sped past the officers, knocked one down and further hit a tree in the process at a further distance. The vehicle, carrying avocados, was en route to Thika town from the Mang’u.

“Police officers from a nearby post rushed to the scene and rushed the injured duo to the Thika Level Five Hospital,” eyewitnesses stated.
