Fifteen people were on Wednesday morning killed after two buses collided head-on at Kizingo area on the Malindi-Mombasa highway.

The accident involved a Sabaki Travellers Sacco matatu from Malindi and a Gede-bound Muhsin bus.

According to Kilifi County Commissioner Kutswa Olaka, the Muhsin bus lost control following a tyre burst, leading to the collision.

Among those who lost their lives in the crash included Kilifi County officers who were headed to work.

Those injured have since been taken to the Malindi sub-county hospital.
