For transferring in absence of previous owner applies in the following cases:
  1. deceased persons vehicle
  2. parastatal, EX GKs and county government
This is the official process, but then be ready to wait like 6 months.
DEATH OF THE PREVIOUS OWNER OR SUCCESSION CASE
• Forced transfer request letter
• Original logbook or Police abstract and Form XI-where logbook is missing or lost
• Properly filled form C
-Tape lift
• Sworn affidavit .
Copy of ID & PIN of the new owner.
. Copy of the ID & PIN of the old owner
• Copy of the death certificate
• Copy of the court order appointing the administrators or executors of the estate
• Copy of the certificate of grant
• Copy of the schedule of properties inclusive of the vehicle being transferred
stating the person who the vehicle is going to
• New owner must have a TIMS account
DROP THE ABOVE DOCUMENTS AT NTSA OFFICES.

Required Documents

1.Copy of valid Insurance Cover.

2.Original Registration Book (log book)

3.A duly filled and signed transfer from “C”.

4.Letters of Administration to be attached

5.Transfers: (a) For individuals.

  • copies of : National card (ID) For both buyer and seller
  • Pin certificate for both buyer and seller.(
    • For companies,
  • copies of : Certificate of in corporation.
  • Pin certificate for both buyer and seller.
    • For business:
  • copies of :Certificate of Business Registration

6.Incase of parastatal, EX GKs and Local Authority, letter signed personally by respective permanent Secretaries.

Eligibility

One has to show proof that the owner gave consent of the transfer, through a will.

Can only be done if the owner of the vehicle is deceased.

After the transfer, the new documents are valid until the new owner transfers ownership to another person, or disposes off the vehicle.

Need for the Document

In case the owner of a vehicle dies, one (most often next of kin) can apply for transfer of ownership from the deceased to him/herself
