Man escapes death by a whisker as a live KPLC transformer crashes his car in Eldoret

A motorist in Eldoret narrowly escaped death when a Kenya Power transformer dropped on his car as he drove on the road.

According to eye-witnesses , the poles holding the transformer gave way after their hold was weakened by the heavy rain. The runoff swept away the soil supporting the poles causing them to tumble. As fate would have it, all this happened at the exact moment that the motorist was driving past the power poles.

People who were nearby ran to the rescued of the driver , pulled him out of the vehicle and rushed to hospital. Fortunately, the transformer did not explode into flames which would have been disastrous to both the victim and his rescuers .

Motorists have been cautioned to be extremely careful on the road as the country experiences heavy rains which are expected to continue for the better part of this month.
