The accident happened at a blackspot where 60 people were burned to death when a tanker lost control ploughed into other motorists and exploded.

Accidents in a blackstop may involve more than human error and vehicle mechanics. It brings into focus the road design, build quality and other environmental factors like visibility due to fog etc.

 

 

Three people have died in a grisly road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway after a vehicle they were travelling in lost control and crushed by the roadside.

Six others were seriously injured after the accident near Raini trading centre 10kms from Naivasha..

The accident occurred after the Nissan that was headed to Naivasha from Nairobi hit a speed-bump and lost control before crushing by the roadside.

According to James Kabono from Naivasha Safety Group, the three died on the spot while the injured were rushed to Naivasha sub-county hospital.

“It seems like the driver was new on the route and he hit the bump in very high speed leading to the accident,” he said.

 

The accident occurred on the same spot where two years ago 14 vehicles were burnt down leading to the deaths of over 60 people.
