NTSA suspends Super Metro’s license

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has taken a bold step by suspending the operating license of Super Metro Limited, citing multiple violations of Public Service Vehicle (PSV) regulations. This decision, announced on Thursday, is effective immediately and is aimed at enhancing road safety and enforcing regulatory compliance.

• Expired vehicle inspection certificates – 15 out of 523 vehicles failed to meet the required standards.
• Lapsed road service licenses – 8 vehicles were found operating without valid permits.
• Speed limiter violations – 294 vehicles had expired certificates or exceeded the 80 km/h speed limit, with 109 vehicles caught speeding beyond the threshold.
• Unqualified drivers – Some drivers lacked the necessary credentials, posing a major safety risk.
• Labor law violations – The company failed to comply with employment regulations, such as issuing contracts and making statutory deductions.
