Two people met their demise on the scene, while four others were rushed to Kaplong Mission Hospital in Bomet on Monday afternoon after a tragic accident in the Mikingo area along the Bomet-Kaplong highway.
Bomet County police commandant Robinson Ndiwa reported that the accident involved two vehicles traveling in opposite directions, resulting in a head-on collision.
One of the vehicles swerved out of its lane in an attempt to avoid hitting a parked car at the roadside.
Following the incident, a frustrating traffic jam on the Kisii-Narok highway persisted for nearly two hours before order was finally restored.
The deceased were transported to the Kapkatet hospital mortuary.
